About FastFingerRace

FastFingerRace measures your typing speed (WPM) and accuracy and compares them in rankings and in daily, weekly and monthly events. The site is free and funded by advertising.

The site is run by Daniel Burrichter. Contact details and the full legal notice are in the imprint.

How the typing test works

You type a random sequence of words from the word list you choose – German or English, from home-row drills through numbers, symbols and code to the 1,000 most common English words. The test measures words per minute (WPM), accuracy, errors and your longest error-free streak. You can take the test without an account; with an account your results go into the rankings, events and your progress. Start the typing test now

Fair rankings

The server recalculates every ranked result from the word sequence and your input instead of trusting the browser. Results that do not match a real game are not ranked, and suspicious entries are also reviewed by hand.

Guides and practice

In the blog and below the typing test you will find guides on touch typing, accuracy, ergonomics and keyboards. Their practice links open the typing test with a matching word list and mode. Blog
